For the first few days of shoot week of this month’s @FP4Party I was still in Eastern Europe. We’d been visiting my mother-in-law in Poland, and as we’ve done a couple of times now, travelled to the mountains on the Polish/Czech border on New Year’s Day. At some point last week, I saw Hamish’s tantalising pictures on social media of ten boxes containing the new 7Artisans, 50mm lenses that he had for sale. It’s a lens that’s been causing quite a stir since its launch, due to the winning formula of being an M-mount 50mm, superfast and a divorce cheaper than buying the Leica equivalent. Continue reading

While I often try to work out what kit has been used for an image, I hadn’t tried a blind test. What I had done though, is shot the same scene on two formats and using the same film stock, camera settings and development, so I posted up the three pairs of pictures below and invited Ade and the Twitter community to work out which was which. If you’ve been keeping up, you’ll have read that one week away became two quite different week long trips. The first with my family in Eastern Europe, and the second, a roadtrip-cum-pilgrimage with a mate to see a Scottish bridge.
