More than translation

There is a difference between translating something into English and communicating effectively with an English-speaking business.

A translation can be grammatically correct and still sound unnatural, overly formal or simply unlike the way an English-speaking company would communicate.

I work from your original material and your knowledge of your products and business. My job is to turn that information into clear, natural English without losing the technical detail or meaning.

Why work with a person?

A.I. translation and writing tools have become extremely capable, and they can be very useful. I use them myself when they are appropriate. However, good business communication involves more than producing grammatically correct English. I bring three things that an automated translation cannot reliably provide:

Context

I can understand what you are actually trying to communicate, who you are communicating with and why. A technical description, a sales email and a customer complaint may all require quite different language, even when the words in the original Polish are similar.

Judgement

Sometimes the problem isn’t a grammatical mistake. It’s that something sounds too formal, too vague, too blunt or simply not like something a British or international company would say. Those decisions depend on context and experience.

Responsibility

When an important document goes to a customer, distributor or business partner, you want to know that the English has been properly considered, not simply generated and accepted.

The difference is that the final result is reviewed and shaped by a native British English speaker who understands your business, your technical information and the purpose of the communication.

Professional English conversation

I also provide one-to-one English conversation for Polish professionals who already have a good level of English but want more confidence using it at work.

This isn’t traditional language teaching.

There is no textbook and no formal course. Instead, we can concentrate on the situations you actually encounter:

About me

I am a native British English speaker with more than 30 years of experience in international engineering and manufacturing.

My career has involved working with suppliers, customers and international supply chains, as well as dealing with technical information and communicating across different countries and business cultures.

That experience gives me a practical understanding of how technical and commercial information needs to be communicated — accurately, clearly and with the intended audience in mind.

I now live near Syców in Lower Silesia and am offering that experience to Polish companies looking to communicate more effectively in English.
