Field Recording: An Irish Dawn Chorus

Twenty minutes in our garden in County Clare, just before dawn in mid-February, 2022.

There are rooks, tits, pigeons, robins, wrens and the star of the show, a blackbird.
There’s also our central heating burner, traffic on the R462 between Sixmilebridge and Kilmurry, and aircraft carrying American troops into Shannon airport as they head east towards the Ukraine, via a not so neutral Ireland.

This recording was made using a binaural Zoom H3-VR recorder. This means that if you listen wearing headphones, you should be able to place each sound around you – in front, behind, above and below. Give it a try…
