I had a work trip to Sunderland today. After the visit to the factory, we nipped to see the Angel of the North. You might remember I quite like Mr Gormley’s work after my visit to Crosby Beach and so I was looking forward to seeing the angel for the first time. Driving towards it, up the A1, I was pretty disappointed to see only the top sticking up over the trees. I’d expected something much more imposing. However, once parked up and standing at the foot of the sculpture, it is a wonderfully majestic sight. Perfectly proportioned and stunning from every angle. Thanks to everyone that plays the lottery that paid for it.
