Flyer thanks once again to Louise (Moonpie)
This month’s Critical Mass promises to be our best yet – it’s certainly our most ambitious.
August bank holiday weekend has loads going on for the cyclists in the city and Leicester Critical Mass is delighted to be teaming up with the Ride Leicester Festival to bring you the RED CARPET RIDE.
The route will take us on familiar roads but with a new twist, from Orton Square to Phoenix Square. Somewhere along the way, everyone that rides with us will receive a free cinema ticket that will allow them in to see a couple of very special films.
When we arrive at Phoenix you can walk the red carpet, through the banks of paparazzi and be our special guests at the world premiere of our very own Leicester Critical Mass short film.
The main event will be the second showing anywhere (does regional premiere sound better?) of BÖIKZMÖIND. A film about the bike scene in Bristol made by Leicester film maker Gavin Strange who’ll be along to tell us the story of how it was made.
Then join us afterwards for a beer and some live music in the Phoenix bar.
Your ticket will also allow you entry into any other film or presentation during the festival weekend- details here.
So come and ride our red carpet as your favourite film star or character. Think glitz and glamour as Hollywood comes to Leicester and know that no outfit will be too over the top.
We’re expecting a couple of Marilyns, Batmen and a Shrek or two. Or perhaps you’ll want to relive the golden age of cinema and come in black and white and not talk much…
See you on the 26th. 6pm, Orton Square.
