for once in my life i won’t let sorrow hurt me…

on the wall of our kitchen is a map.
it isn’t always the same map.
it was a world map.
then it was poland.
then france.
depending on where the next adventure lies.
no adventures planned at the moment.
so the map is an old inch to the mile, tourist’s map of the lakes.
i look at the map while i’m waiting for the kettle to boil for tea.
i realise that sounds like something someone 30 years older than me might say, but it’s important to slow down every now and then.
even if it is only 5 minutes to look at a map.

  1. Love that idea. Might find room for some maps myself.

    Found your blog via planet-x / on-one

Been looking at bikes on there (i could bankrupt myself on there) and pondering a 29er – you ride one, yes? how do you find it compared to a bog standard 26er hardtail?

Doubly liked your blog as I grew up in Wymeswold so know the areas you talk about. 🙂
